I had the pleasure of working closely with Maki Kimura on a ballet for solo piano, choreographed by the late, great Ann Reinking. We had to work fast with our dancers, and gratefully Maki was a very skilled pianist, which gave us great flexibility to work expediently. Maki is truly first-rate: she has technique to burn, a beautiful sound, and was an ideal collaborator on this project. Both myself and Ms. Reinking adored working with Maki! She is highly motivated, dedicated to her art, and I envy the souls lucky enough to work with her. On top of all of this, she is the kindest, most patient woman on the planet. Maki would be great working with any style of music, be it live or in a recording studio.
I cannot say enough about this incredible musician, and recommend her with great pleasure!
